Work Details: – The khesh weaving process is very interesting. It’s originating from the Birbhum district of West Bengal and is a classical design type of Bengal. An old saree is picked, washed, cleaned and then the saree or the cloth is separated thread by thread and then kept along with the other yarn to weave into a new saree.
Gujarat dominated the seaborne cotton trade through ages and is still today a major producer of block prints. The combination of printing with mordant dyeing is typical of the technique in many parts of Gujarat and is finished with hand-carved woven blocks and prints on fabric.. This process employs thousands of skilled craftsman and women across various villages In West Bengal.Â
